5 months

Today we are celebrating 5 months of being married! In a way it still seems just like yesterday we were engaged, eagerly waiting for August 30th to arrive, and in other ways I feel like I have known this man for years and years! It's not been an easy month. Tomorrow ends our fast, Anson has been fasting from several things the main thing being from food, and I have taken things like movies and computer games out of my life for a little while. God has taught us both a lot of things here in the past few weeks. He has taught me to trust in Him more and more. To love Him first, fully and completly. To forgive and trust that He has everything under control. Oh what a powerful God we serve!

"His divine power has given us everything we need for
life and godliness through our knowledge of him who
called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these
he has given us his very great and precious promises,
so that through them you may participate in the divine
nature and escape the corruption in the world caused
by evil desires.

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your
faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to
knowledge, self-control; and to self-control,
perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to
godliness, brotherly kindness;and to brotherly kindness,
love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing
measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and
unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and
blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from
his past sins.

Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make
your calling and election sure. For if you do these things,
you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome
into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
2 Peter 1:3-11

A long time...

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

It has been a long time since I last wrote on here. Yesterday it snowed here in Raleigh for the first time this year. It was so pretty yesterday, now it's melting away and isn't so pretty anymore. I'm ready for it to be spring, for warm weather!
